Text Box:       Text Box:          Artist’s Statement A new, pure white canvas is perfect in its starkness, so I feel every color and brush stroke that I add must have necessity and purpose.  A painting is like a well written poem, all  unnecessary words must be removed leaving the poem distilled to it’s essence—then it is complete.  The same can be said of a painting.  The fascinating thing about artistic expression, whether it’s creating a painting or writing a poem is that you and the work are constantly growing.  The mediums are simpatico; words and paint are both used to create vivid images that draw the viewer, or reader, into an unfolding story.
